GAKUVED Federation demands justice for activist Rama Kankonkar

The GAKUVED Federation has demanded that Azossim Mandur sarpanch Ajit Bachal and others who allegedly assaulted activist Rama Kankonkar on 4th of June be arrested. Or else they have threatened to take the matter to court.

Secretary of GAKUVED Federation Rupesh Velip said that sarpanch of Azossim Mandur Ajit Bachal and others who were involved in assaulting Rama Kankonkar have still not been arrested.

He also stated that the sarpanch also abused Rama.

He said that this needs to be investigated using relevant sections of ‘The SC/ST, Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989.

The Sarpanch and Sant Andre MLA Francis Silveira have however denied their involvement in the incident.

A complaint and counter-complaint have been filed with the police.
