Pai Tiatrist is part of Goa history: Damu

Pai Tiatrist Joao Agustin Fernandes contribution greatly to preserve and ensure that Konkani language flourished in Goa. He is part of Goa’s history and would be remembered forever, Ravindra Bhavan Margao chairman Damodar Naik said.

The three day cultural festival has been organized by Tiatr Academy of Goa and Ravindra Bhavan Margao. The program commemorated the 150^th birth anniversary of Goa’s Pai Tiatrist Joao Agustin Fernandes.

Various programs would be held till 16 December. Tiatr lovers went to his house to celebrate his birth anniversary and even cut a cake.   

Few programs are planned on the occasion of 60^th anniversary of Goa Liberation Day at Ravindra Bhavan. A short Film making competition has been organized. 22 December is last day to submit entries.

Also a solo patriotic singing competition has been organized for senior citizens on 28 December and Goa Trio dance competition for all age groups at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.

Himachal Pradesh Governor Rajendra Arlekar also spoke on the occasion.
