Truck meets with accident afte bridge collapses in Cambrabhat

The main culvert at the entrance of Cambrabhat Bridge in Panjim caved in earlier today, which local resident are blaming on substandard construction work done. A truck was travelling over the bridge when it collapsed. Luckily only a part of the truck sank along with the rubble and the driver was extracted immediately.

Locals say that shoddy work is to blame for the collapse of the bridge. A resident of the area says that he warned the contractor of the nearby construction to no send heavy machinery through the bridge owing to the weak foundation of the bridge. No other injuries have been reported, and investigation into the cause of the collapse in on.
