Our next story takes us to the northeastern state of Mizoram, where a Myanmar military aircraft encountered a mishap during a mission to airlift army personnel who had sought refuge in India. Here are the details.

In a dramatic turn of events at Mizoram's Lengpui Airport, a Myanmar military aircraft, engaged in a mission to evacuate army personnel seeking refuge, skidded off the runway. The tabletop runway, known for its challenging nature, witnessed the Y-8 aircraft splitting in half during landing. At least eight individuals on board sustained injuries in the incident.

India, responding to the situation, took a significant step by sending back 184 Myanmarese soldiers back home who had entered Mizoram last week. The soldiers sought assistance from the Assam Rifles after their camp was overrun by fighters from the 'Arakan Army,' a Myanmarese insurgent group advocating for an independent Rakhine State.

: The soldiers, totaling 276, entered Mizoram's Lawngtlai district on January 17, with the remaining 92 soldiers set to be sent home today. The process involved transporting the group from Lengpui Airport to Sittwe in Myanmar's Rakhine State using Myanmar Air Force planes. This incident sheds light on the complexities surrounding the conflict in Myanmar and the impact it's having on neighboring regions.
