70-year-old lady crushed under the wheels at Cortalim

A 70-year-old woman from Cortalim died on the spot after she came under the wheels of a truck at Cortalim. On her two wheeler she was going home after attending mass at around 9.30 in the morning.This sparked tension and furious locals led by local panch members came road. The want internal roads to ne No Entry for heavy vehicles.

The truck was driven 31-year-old  Rajasab Nadaf from Sindhudurg. Deputy Sarpanch Raymond D'Sa said the trucks of Dilip Buildcon Limited, who is building the highway, are using internal roads as a shortcut.

The Panchayat had already taken a resolution to declare internal roads as no entry for heavily vehicle.They now want Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho to intervene.
