State Badminton Ass gets Rs 5 lakh from parent body

In order to promote the game, Badminton Association of India has given a grant of 5 lakh rupees to the state badminton association.
In another development, Himanta Biswa Sarma has been elected as the President of the national Badminton Association.
A meeting of the members of the state badminton association and Badminton Association of India was held in Calangute on Tuesday evening.
Many decisions to improve and promote the game of badminton in the state were taken at the meeting.
Joint secretary Narahar Thakur has hailed the developments and decided to help the association financially.
The national team will be headed by chief coach P Gopi Chand.
