Update on dengue situation in Goa || ENGLISH || GOA365

There has been a sharp increase in the number of Dengue cases in Goa in the last 2 months. The Ponda sub-district hospital alone saw 27 cases of the viral disease since the start of September with 7 still under admission. The health department has assured the citizens that all is well, however, many remain wary as cases are still being reported. Here’s more.





The vector-borne disease has been ravaging the state since the start of August. After Calangute, Mapusa, and Bicholim, Ponda is seeing a spike in cases. Goa365 spoke to Doctor Jayshree Marcaikar of the Ponda Sub-district Hospital who gave further details.

Bicholim, on the other hand, isnow reporting a downward trend in cases. CHC in-charge Doctor Medha Salkar, while speaking to Goa365, rubbished claims of the CHC falling short of Dengue testing kits. Listen.
