Many have lost their jobs during the pandemic. In a good initiative, many of those unemployed have turned entyrepreneurs. They have started their own business. Some have become chefs, others have turned to selling fish or become fruitsellers.

Some Ponda unemployed youths who started their fish selling business to earn livelihood had urged the Ponda Municipal Council and Fishery Department to consider their applications for getting schemes of government provided under fishery department.

As per law vendors selling fish need to get an NOC from the PMC and have to register themselves with the fishery department to avail schemes framed for such vendors. Meanwhile PMC asked for unemployed who are conducting fish seeling business in street of Ponda to regsiter themselves with PMC for availing schemes under fishery department.
