Sautawaddo locals up in arms over allotment of proposed kiosks in Baga

Villagers of Sautawaddo Baga up in arms over the allotment of proposed kiosks by Calangute Communidae in parking space near the Nazari resort. They demanded that the Sautadkars should be given first preference while allotting the kiosks and gheroed their ward member on the issue.



Heavy drama was witnessed in Calangute on Tuesday.


The parking space near Nazari resort is owned by Calangute Communidade. And Communidade had built two kiosks for the person who is running the parking on lease.


The communidade plans to built 18 more kiosks at the same location.


Sautawaddo locals say that the communidade should give first preference for those kiosks to Sautawaddo locals instead of persons from other wards.


However, Calangute Communidae Attorney said that he will take a call at the general body meeting.

There were furor among the locals after their ward member Saluzinho Fernandes failed to attend their meeting.


All villagers marched to Calangute panchayat and gheroed Saluzinho on the issue.


Saluzinho tried to tell the Goa 365 reporter to not report the story. And tried to blame locals for not calling him for the meeting.


Finally ward member Saluzinho bowed down before the locals and summoned Calangute Communidade attorney.


Attorney Anthony D'Souza said first the kiosks will be handed over to shareholders and then they will take call on leasing of these kiosks.


A small meeting was held. But to no avail.


The attorney then said that the call on this will be taken on this during their general body meeting.
