DROWNING DEATHS AWARENESS

Drowning incidents have become common in the state in recent times. Goa CAN Roland Martins urged people, government, UN organizations, institutions and civil society organizations to cooperate and encourage preventing increasing drowning incidents in the state.

 He was speaking on World Drowning Prevention Day, which is observed on 25^th July every year. Goa is a tourist destination and people come to the state for sightseeing every day.

However, sadly drowning incidents are increasing day by day. The government should pay serious attention to this issue, says Martins, urging the government and NGOs to inspect rivers, lakes and other water sources for the safety of the people.
