12 hours shift for workers unacceptable: worker's union

The worker's unions have demanded to scrap 12 hours shift ordinance for workers. Increasing 8 hours shift to 12 hours in factories would lead to physical and mental exploitation of workers, the union said.



Goa government passed an ordinance on 8th May to increase 8 hours shift to 12 hours for the factory workers.


AITUC and other worker's unions have opposed this ordinance.


AITUC has demanded to scrap this ordinance as it would affect health and living of workers.
