Goa celebrates feast of St. Sebastian

The feast of St. Sebastain the patron against sickness, athletes, and dying people was celebrated across the state on Sunday.



Special masses and prayer services were held in Chapels and churches.


St. Sebastian spent much of his time encouraging and converting countless prisoners of the Roman army.


He was a gifted healer using the Sign of the Cross and also converted his fellow soldiers, as well as the governor of Rome. Saint Sebastian was eventually caught and martyred for his faith.


In Arpora, the St. Sebastian chapel is right in the heart of the village. Thousands of villagers & visitors were seen taking part in the feast celebration on Sunday and also during the 9 days novenas.


People from both the religions Hindu and Catholic are seen every year coming together to celebrate this feast.


In Chinchinnim, this feast was celebrated at Bomoicho Khuris Chapel, this year 109th feast of this chapel and St Sebastian was celebrated with religious fervor.
