Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, during his Madhya Pradesh leg of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra on Sunday, targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's economic policies, asserting that they have negatively affected small businesses and fueled unemployment. Gandhi further alleged that India's unemployment rate surpasses that of neighboring countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Bhutan, attributing this to the Modi government's policies.

Expanding on his criticism of the Modi government's economic policies, Rahul Gandhi highlighted the detrimental effects of demonetization and the Goods and Services Tax on India's unemployment rate, which he claimed has reached a 40-year high. He drew a comparison with neighboring countries, stating that India's unemployment rate is higher than that of Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Bhutan, attributing this situation to the government's policies

Gandhi emphasized the impact of these policies on small businesses, leading to widespread closures and job losses. He also engaged with ex-servicemen and Agniveers in Gwalior, discussing their concerns and experiences. Furthermore, he explained the incorporation of 'nyay' (justice) in the title of the yatra's second phase, as a response to public feedback regarding regions overlooked in the initial journey.
