BJP Emerges As Wealthiest National Political Party In India; Here’s How Much They Earned Last Year

The Association of Democratic Reforms or ADR has released a report on the financial status of Major national political parties in the state. The BJP has emerged as the wealthiest national party, reporting an income of ₹2360.84 crore in the financial year 2022-23. Here’s a breakdown of the report.



The recent report by the Association of Democratic Reformssheds light on the financial standings of major national parties. The BJP leads the pack with a staggering income, comprising 76.73% of the total ₹3,076.88 crore income of six national parties, including the Indian National Congress (INC), CPI(M), Aam Aadmi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, and NPEP. Congress has secured the second spot with an income of ₹452.37 crore, forming 14.70% of the total.

The BJP, despite its substantial income, spent 57.68% of it, amounting to ₹1361.68 crore. Nearly 89.80% of the BJP's income came from voluntary contributions, according to the ADR report.In contrast, the INC surpassed its income with expenditures totaling ₹467.13 crore, exceeding the total income by 3.26%. Approximately 59.38% of the INC's income was derived from grants, contributions, and donations.

The ADR report provides a comprehensive overview of the financial dynamics of these major political players. This financial analysis covers the total income and expenditure of national parties across India during FY 2022-23, as declared in their annual audit reports submitted to the Election Commission of India.
