Is Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant holding public meetings of ZP elections in violation of his own order? And is Goa State Election Commission is working under the pressure of the BJP government? These are the questions raised as CM is holding closed door public meetings in spite of he himself banning it due to the threat of corona virus. And now it has also become a national news.

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant had a high powered committee meeting on Saturday and then announced various measures taken to control the spread of corona virus.

When the issue of public campaign for ZP elections was raised, this is what he said on Saturday morning.

On the same day, CM went and addressed ZP meetings in Priol, Shiroda and then at Harmal in Mandrem.

On Monday, he was in Sanvordem. And on Sunday, leader of the opposition Digambar Kamat had a bike rally in Latambarcem constituency of Bicholim.

There are diverse versions on this issue. Congress has filed a complaint before the State Election Commission.

And Commission has reportedly told them that government has no right to ban public meetings for election campaign.

And Aam Aadmi Party says the Commission has denied permission to them to hold public meetings because government has banned it.

Meanwhile, national TV channels have also started flashing news that Goa CM is holding public meetings while he only has directed the district collectors not to allow any such meeting.
