Mining dependents on road once again to restart mining

Monsoon has just started. But mining dependents are worried whether mining would restart after monsoon. So to urge the authorities in Goa and at the centre, Sanvordem mining dependents have flexed their muscles. On the other hand, the Salcete truck owners also upset with Congress MLAs for interfering in their business.



The mining dependents had a meeting in Sanvordem on Saturday. Their immediate worry was the retrenchment of mining workers. Earlier, they had sent almost 25,000 letters to the prime minister and other union ministers. Now, with the new Modi government, they are planning to send 15,000 letters to the new mining minister as well as other union ministers. And also the news Goa CM Dr. Pramod Sawant.


On the other hand, Salcette truck owners are upset with politicians, especially the Congress MLAs. They allege that these MLAs are interfering in their transport business at MPT.


Salcete Truck Owners Association President Franky Gomes also alleged that Congress is the reason for the closure of mining in the state.
