As garbage continues to haunt the state, especially in villages, panchayats have been pulled up and instructed to tackle the issue. The Verla-Canca panchayat, in a bid to curb blackspots, installed CCTV cameras and lights along a road, known for garbage dumping. Here’s NitikshaGoankar with the story.

Speaking to Goa365, the Sarpanch said that most of the garbage is being dumped by migrants. With the CCTV and lights in place, the sarpanch hopes that area could finally be rid of garbage.

Local panch member Digambar kalangutkar backed the claim, adding that many shop owners too have been dumping their garbage at the spot, including chicken waste.
