Speaker dismissed MGP, Cong petitions against 12 MLAs

10 Congress MLAs and 2 MGP MLAs who defected and joined BJP are now safe and can complete their term in BJP led government after the Speaker Rajesh Patnekar dismissed the petitions filed by the Congress and MGP. The Speaker in a one line order dismissed the petitions

 Both the parties said that they would weigh their options accordingly. The cases is supposed be heard by the Apex Court in a couple of days. The speaker had heard the matter last on 5th April and said the final order on their petition would be given on 29th April. However, the matter went into Supreme Court and it directed Speaker to hear the matter on 20th April. Accordingly, Speaker heard the matter and dismissed the petitions of both MGP and MLA safeguarding their 12 defected MLAs. However, their counsel says no reasons were given.
