Despite falling under 3 panchayats, Davorlim junction remains submerged under garbage. The residents of the area and children who attends schools here have developed serious health issues because of the waste.

 An urgent site inspection was convened with the 3 panchayats, the BDO and Child rights commission. At present, potential solutions are being discussed, however future implementation remains to be seen.

Officials from BDO Salcette and the Child Rights Protection commission were present for the inspection. The official from the BDO pointed out that despite regular cleaning,

people continued to use the space as a dumping ground. She claims that this might be occurring because a transfer station of the Waste Management Corporation is situated at the junction. Here’s what they had to say.
