Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch has re-launched its statewide agitation against state government’s policy on the language issue.

BBSM says the government is out to destroy Konknni and Marathi languages.

The organisation said if we have to preserve the local culture then it is imperative to save these local  languages

The BBSM agitated in Mapusa on Wednesday where it said the Education Department has given permission to a English language school on the sly.

BBSM has demanded permissions for more  Konknni and Marathi schools.

Meanwhile, BBSM held a  dharna in Bicholim on Wednesday.

The organization gave a memorandum to ADEI of  Bicholim to save Marathi and Konkani government primary schools.

Many government primary schools have closed down and those running are in bad condition.

Around 400 government schools are set to close down during the coming academic year due to lack of students.
