Chorao motorists at wits end over stray cattle menace

People have suffered, complained and now they have lost patience, Chorao local who has been often victims of the stray cattle menace say. They have now threatened to hit the roads. Herds of stray cattle are regularly seen in middle of the roads in Chorao village, which is a part of Mayem constituency.



Goa 365 is continuously highlighting the issue of stray cattle in Mayem constituency. Panchayat meetings have been convened, talks with Goshalas held and promises galore made by the local MLA. Even, the Chief Minister has proposed a solution in the assembly. However, anybody travelling in Chorao has to cut through the cattle herd. Day or night the situation remains same. Watch the cattle occupying the entire road in night and motorist having a hard time passing through them.

Former Sarpanch Shrikrishna Haldankar explains the ground reality of Chorao. He said villagers get angry if their village comes up for discussion. He explained how he put forth the issue of stray cattle before panchayat and what was the outcome.
