Mopa Dhangars made homeless, Babu held responsible

08 Jan 2019 04:59 PM

This is really a sad story of Dhanagars who sacrificed their houses and land for Mopa airport.

The Civil Aviation Department had built them pukka houses at Casarvarne.

Even before they could move into it, these houses are showing signs of damage. As a result, they are presently living in the open.

Their original houses on Mopa plateau were much bigger than these so called pukka houses down in the village of Kasarvarne.

They were moved here on 27th November.

But couldn’t move in because of the cracks developed to the roofs and ceilings also started falling down.

Their cowsheds are also not ready.

The assurance of giving them 800 sq mts of land has simply vanished in the air. Presently they have built make-shift shelters.

They are now holding local MLA and minister Babu Azgaonkar.
