INS Vikrant by next year: Defence Minister

The first indegenious aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, will be finally inducted into the Indian Navy by next year, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said after inspecting INS Vikrant aircraft carrier. The aircraft carrier will be induced in Indian Navy on the occasion of 75th Independence Day.
INS Vikrant has completed weapons integration and basin trails. The sea trials that were supposed to start now have been delayed and are set to start after the monsoons. The vessel is being built at the Cochin Shipyard.
