Won’t remain silent if Pednekars are not given jobs at Mopa airport, warns Babu

Tourism Minister and Pernem MLA Babu Azgaonkar once again reiterated that locals have to get jobs at the new Mopa airport.



He warned GMR, the airport contractor  that he would not remain silent if Pednekars are not given jobs. 

Azgaonkar was speaking during the handing over ceremony of new houses to 14 dhangar families displaced from the Mopa airport site at Casarvane-Pernem.

Government had acquired 36,800 sq mtrs of land at 6 crore rupees belonging to a temple at Casarvane by passing a special law in the assembly.

Each family got 800 sq mtrs of land. Government has also promised them a job for one family member.

Also present were Union Minister for Ayush, Shripad Naik. 

Azgaonkar also said that the government is stable as more opposition MLA’s are joining in.

He said that the illness of the Chief Minister has not hindered the development in Goa.
