Traffic police deploy laser gun to check speed

Motorists beware! Police are waiting for you if you cross speed limit on the roads. Goa Police have acquired 4 laser guns, aptly called speed hunters, to catch overspeeding motorists.
They have been deployed from Tuesday. Police have also acquired 100 alcometers to check drunken driving.
Each laser gun costs around 30 lakh rupees . The
device is mounted on a tripod and can be easily carried to any place. As per
Supreme Court guidelines, licences can be suspending for overspeeding for three months and above.
DGP Muktesh Chander later took journalists to the
location near Goa University where police deployed the laser gun and caught
some overspeeding motorists.
