Govt will finalise IIT site by next month: CM

He said that around four proposals are under consideration for a new IIT site and the new site will be declared by next month.

The chief minister was talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function at Goa Institute of Management in Sakhli.

A site for IIT has become a big issue in the state. The first location in Sanguem taluka had encountered land acquisition problem.

Later, the state government chose a site in Melaulim in Sattari taluka but there too the locals opposed the proposal very vociferously.
