GOVERNOR VISITS NEGLECTED HERITAGE SITE, NAMAAGAH

Governor, P. S. Sreedharan Pillai visited heritage site, Namaazgah in Bicholim on Friday. The site which has been neglected and unmaintained for years was brought to the attention of the governor by concerned locals, who has assured that he would ensure development of the area

Governor Sreedharan Pillai has been traveling around Goa as part of his All Goa Yatra. On Friday, he visited namaazgahin Bicholim. On behalf of Jamaat-e-Muslimeen, Nazir Bega informed the Governor of the issues faced by namaazgah and its surrounding areas.

On Wednesday, our reporter highlighted the lack of maintenance of namaazgah and its surroundings. The Governor then took note of it and inspected the architecture. Instead of the traditional route, the governor had to walk throughapathpassing through a mining site to reach this heritage site.

The Governor then visited Our Lady of Grace Church in Bicholim. Local MLA Dr. ChandrakantShetye, Mayem MLA PremendraShet, ChairpersonKundanFalari and church priests welcomed the Governor.
