Drives against drinking and driving and speeding; but what about bad roads?

The fateful accident at Banastarim which led to the death of 3, has sparked the debate on road safety in the state yet again. While police have swung into action, testing for alcohol and overspeeding via ‘special’ drives; stray cattle, unlit roads, and potholes have slid right under the radar.

While police continue to take the brunt for road safety, the PWD and other agencies responsible for the maintenance of roads continue to go scot-free – even as commuters are losing life and limb to the carelessness of the authorities
