Cuncolim civic body erupts in chaos as police dictate terms at chairperson behest

The Cuncolim Municipal council meeting held today had a first of sorts even as the state was holding a massive function celebrating democracy @ Goa@60. At the meeting, the police were directing and dictating how councilors had to speak and whether they had to stand or sit while questioning the Chairperson.

The meeting of Cuncolim Municipal Council was held on Friday. After the meeting Councillor Udesh Naik alleged that the Chairperson also used a derogatory remark against him besides not allowing him to speak. Shockingly the chairperson agrees that he indeed abused him.

Doesn’t matter whatever the issue is democracy does not give any right to use a derogatory word against the councilor.

Today was derogatory word tomorrow it could be something else, said councilor Rahul Dessai demanding an apology from Chairperson and threatened to boycott next council meeting.
