CM congratulates PM, HM for abrogating Art 370, 35A

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi Home Minister Amit Shah for abrogating Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian constitution. These two Articles gave special status to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. The chief minister said the cabinet has also taken decision on a number of amendments to a a number of bills, including the Education Act.

The union government has also bifurcated the state into two Union Territories, namely Jammu -Kashmir and Ladakh. Bharatiya Janata Party workers took out a rally in Mapusa to celebrate the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A of the Indian constitution by Prime Minster Narendra Modi on Monday.

There were fireworks and distribution of sweets in the streets. The abrogation of the two articles is a major and bold step by the Modi government.
