Civic polls to Sanquelim, Ponda conclude || ENGLISH || GOA365

Municipality polls have concluded with sanquelim recording a voter turnout of 87.56% and Ponda 74.66%. Candidates and voters are now in a waiting game until the 7th when results will be declared.

The battle for Sanquelim was fought between the BJP, which has the blessing of the chief minister, and Dharmesh Saglani’s panel. Voting was held for 13 wards of the Ponda Municipal Council, where 2 candidates were elected unopposed. Elections in Sanquelim were held for 12 wards also 2 wards were declared unopposed.

While some supporters gave importance to seasoned candidates instead of new young face, others extended their support to new entrants.
