Gajanan Jog & Prashanti Talpankar get prestigious Sahitya Akademi awards

Sahitya Akademi Award is the most honored in the field of literature.



The premiere literary institute of the country has announced this year's in major 24 languages of India.

In Konkani, Gajanan Jog has bagged the Sahitya Akademi Puraskar for his story collection “Khand Ani Her Katha”.

The translation award has been awarded to Prashanti Talpankar for her book “Dirgh Moun Tem”. 

Gajanan Jog is come up from Konkani movement. Past 50 years of his life he is into it.

Before sahitya akademi his efforts are being honored by various prominent organizations.

He has been earlier awarded Sahitya Akademi’s Bal Sahitya Puraskar.

Goa 365 caught with the award winner to know how he feels about winning this prestigious award.

Sahitya Akademi also honors Translation award for outstanding translations of major work in 24 languages recognized by the akademi.

This year Prashanti Talpankar gets home the award for her “Dirgh Mounn the”, novel originally written by Shashi Deshpande as “That long silence”.
