The Supreme Court did not mince words today, as it chastised the Uttarakhand licensing authority for its inaction against Patanjali Ayurved. Justices Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah pulled up officials for delaying action on complaints against Divya Pharmacy since 2018.
The court's criticism didn't stop there. Justices Kohli and Amanullah refused to accept apologies from yoga guru Ramdev and Patanjali's managing director Balkrishna over misleading advertisements.
"In an unusually stern rebuke, the court questioned the sincerity of the apologies, stating they seemed insincere, especially given the past conduct of the individuals involved. Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, representing Ramdev and Balkrishna, faced the court's wrath as the bench declined to accept their apologies, citing a 'wilful and deliberate violation' of previous orders
