Despite the government’s claim of 100% water connectivity, villages like Usgao still face severe water shortages. In Palwada, Usgao, residents have been grappling with an acute water crisis for past six months, with no resolution in sight. Locals have expressed frustration with authorities; however, all they got were empty promises.

According to the residents, they have made several attempts to contact the PWD office in Daag Ponda, but their complaints have fallen on deaf ears. They recently met with the AE of water supply, who assured them that the issue would be resolved, but the exact reason for the water shortage remains unclear.

The water scarcity has forced locals to rely on alternative sources such as springs and bore wells, which they claim are polluted. The situation has become so dire that residents have threatened to stage a protest by bringing their utensils to the PWD office if the issue is not resolved within two days. Many residents fear that the ongoing construction and new settlements in the area will only exacerbate the water crisis in the future.
