Employment: Are Goan’s really on the priority list?

Employment is a major issue today. And there have been a lot of complaints that Goans are not being employed in industries. And though there are so many big companies operating from Goa but when it comes to Job opportunities for well qualified Goans are still not happening. Finally,



 the state government has initiated why Goans are not being employed non Goans are being employed in big industries in the state. The minister for labor and employment Rohan Khaunte on Thursday said that the study in this direction had started and the department had been asked to submit statistics by December end.

  Minister for labor and employment Rohan Khaunte said that this will help to verify the reasons behind the these employment issues.


The department has also been given a timeline to comeback with the job requirements with every industries along with the ratio of employment given to Goans and non Goans out of total employment.


The study will focus on the reasons behind placement of non Goans and why the Goan youth cannot be accommodated in the same job. 

 

The department will have details in hand and by Feb-March and Field officers will be deployed to visit all these industries asking them to create skill development or trainings based on their requirements for Goan youth.


The Minister was speaking to reporters at a inaugural function of office of Bidchat software development Pvt Ltd company which provides product based software development services to clients in US at Verna.
