People stone Fire Brigade office to save a burning shop

A shop caught fire in Curchorem market around midnight on Tuesday. And it was fully gutted simply because the fire brigade did not reach in time.



People had to thrown stones on the fire brigade office to wake them up. There is now inquiry being conducted after Goa365 broke this news. 

The shop selling raincoats, umbrellas and bags was gutted in fire little before midnight. The loss could be around 16 lakh rupees.

People got furious as no fire brigade was coming, which is hardly 200 metres away from the market. 

The shop owner as market association president says that fire brigade came only after they woke them up by throwing stones on the office.

The incident of lethargic act of the fire brigade personnel was reported on Goa365 Shorts on Wednesday morning.

Fire Brigade Director Ashok Menon immediately ordered an inquiry.

The preliminary inquiry was conducted by South Goa SP Nitin Raikar.

The report is not disclosed, but sources say that the report has called our news report of stone pelting false and fabricated.

But Fire Brigade Director Ashok Menon has decided to conduct further inquiry into it.
