New Water sports policy by Sept, Licenses per person will be restricted: CM

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has given indications that the Government is aiming towards exploring the hinterlands for passenger transport purpose on Private Public Partnership basis.



He also informed that the new state water sports policy will be in place by September.

Chief Minister Parrikar was responding to a question on the status of safety and security of jetties in the state by Kudtari MLA Alex Reginald Lourenco.

Parrikar informed that more 13 new jetties are coming up in the state out of which 4 will be floating jetties and 9 will be non floating ones.

The Chief Minister further expressed his views on exploring the possibilities of navigation through river channels.

Chief Minister Parrikar also gave details about the new state water sports policy.

60% of the licenses will be reserved for the local villagers and the rest 40% licenses will be allotted to others from the district.
