6 Goan athlets leave for Austria Special Winter Olympics

Six Goans will be among the 90 Indian athletes to represent the country at the Special Winter Olympics to be held in Austria from 14th to 24th April.



The head of the Indian contingent is the Special Olympics Bharat Goa unit president, Victor Vaz. 

A coach from Goa will also be part of the delegation which has a total strength, including coaches and officials, of 140.

Chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar was present at the send-offfunction of the Goan participantsat Central Library in Patto. However, he said that he was there to give his blessings to the athletes and not in official capacity due to the code of conduct.  


The games will have nine different sports at 3 venues, namely Graz, Schladming and Ramsau. 

Vaz told media that he was sure that the Goan athletes would do well. He still had a wish list and hoped that would be done.
