Goa is utilising only 3% of the total rainwater; the rest goes through other channels and meets the Arabian Sea. Goans need to take up rainwater harvesting very seriously as it is the need of the hour.

This is what renowned architect and environmentalist Kamlakar Sadhale is saying regarding the natural water resources that we Goans can actually utilise.

Kamalakar Sadhale who is a well known architect says that the rainwater should be seen as an important resource and should be stored by means of proper channels.

Currently, the rainwater flows through various streams and meats a bigger water body in totally impure or polluted form.

Sadhale is of an opinion that the natural water sources should not be blocked by using concretized pathways and by dumping garbage. He gave examples of few natural water sources from Ponda town.

Sadhale also suggests various solutions for issues of water shortage which is a regular problem throughout the state. He said people can become self reliant by using simple techniques.
