Amidst festival of democracy, Goans gear up for Chovoth

The holy month of shraavan is over. The most eagerly awaited festival of all the Goans chovoth is just around the corner. People are waiting for the arrival of their beloved Ganpati bappa.



 Goa 365 took stock of situations of the last minute preparations.

The markets have filled up with things ranging from various fancy decorative items to traditional Matoli items.

Thermocol makhars to traditional wooden makhars in all shapes and sizes are available in the markets. Several things from sweets to fireworks for children have come in the markets.

Several Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav mandals are in final stages of finishing their creative decors. 

The traditional artisans also have started giving final touches to the ganpati idols.

The last lot of Ganpati idols is taking shape and the finishing touches are applied by artists in the hub of Ganpati idol makers at Kumbharwada Mayem.
