Shivsena and Goa Suraksha Manch have agreed in principle to align and fight the Goa Assembly election together.

This was announced jointly by Shivsena chief Uddhav Thackeray and Goa’s rebel RSS leader Subhash Velingkar.

The formal announcement, including the seats to be shared, would however be announced later.

Shivsena supremo Uddhav Thackeray met Subhash Velingkar and other leaders of the Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch on Saturday.

After the meeting, Thackeray said they have not come together only to come to power but primarily to do something better. The issue of Medium of Instruction is one of them.

Convener of BBSM Subhash Velingkar said people whom they trusted all these while have broken their trust and backstabbed BBSM.

Velingkar told the media that Goa needs an option different from the mainstream politics.
