Shortage of personnel at Cuncolim police station hampers work

On Thursday Cuncolim MLA Clafacio Dias visited the police station to take a first hand look and assured to raise the issue in the legislative assembly and take up the matter with the chief minister.

Cuncolim police station covers Quepem, Cuncolim and Velim constituencies. But there is insufficient staff. in an emergency, it takes a long time for police to arrive as the staff is overloaded with work.  

The former MLA of Velim  Benjamin Silva also informed media that he too was promised more staff at the Assolna outpost but it was not fulfilled.
