Rane wants roadside shrines to be removed, Churchill wants ‘Dabolim’

The issue of desecration of roadside religious shrines has been haunting the state for over a decade now.

And while one man is caught for this, former Chief Minister Pratapsing Rane has once again brought forward the demand remove all these roadside religious shrines.

Rane was speaking on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address in the Assembly. The veteran leader made a mention of the arrest of Francis Pereira, who mercilessly desecrated religious shrines, most of which were on the roadside. The Supreme Court has already told Goa to demolish these shrines.

NCP MLA Churchill Alemao once again  spoke on his favourite subject of Dabolim and Mopa air ports. Now he doesn’t oppose Mopa.

But he wants a written assurance from the civil aviation ministry that both the airports would remain. Otherwise he fears South Goa economy would collapse like how it collapsed after ban on mining.
