Parties dispute on Clear majority or Fractured mandate

Most of the political parties have finished their calculations. And the major parties continue claiming that they would get absolute majority



The smaller parties are also ready with their predictions. And they have also decided whom to support in case of a hung Assembly.

The Nationalist Congress Party is contesting 16 seats. But its Goa President Jose Philip D’Souza is frank enough to say that they would win only three seats.

They are also firm on not supporting governments formed by the BJP or the MGP, in case of a hung Assembly. 

The Aam Aadmi Party is mainly depending on the silent voter. AAP’s Chief Ministerial Candidate Elvis Gomes is hoping to touch the magical figure of 21 with the silent wave.

But he has ruled out supporting any government. 

President of Goa Vikas Party Lyndon Monteiro thinks no political party will win with comfortable majority.

According to him, the smaller parties will play an important role in Government formation.

Goa Forward Party PresidentPrabhakar Timble is confident of winning all the four seats they are contesting.

They plan to support any party that stood to protect the interests of Goa.

BJP general secretary Sadanand Shet Tanawade expressed his confidence that the BJP will get a majority on their own.

He said that they would not need outside support to form the government.
