The Nationalist Congress party has said that they would be approaching the courts to demand open elections in the university.

The Shiv Sena too has come out in support of open elections alleging that there is pressure being put on elected student representatives by whichever party is in power.

Open elections and pressure by ruling party whoever it may be has become a focal point in this year’s university and college elections.

Across party lines students have come out demanding open elections.

In the state too university and elections have always had the tacit and many times open interference of political parties.

The Shiv Sena has demanded open elections alleging pressure on elected student representatives by political parties.

It also condemned the chief ministers Manohar Parrikar’s action of meeting with student representatives and accused him and his party of trying to influence them by making promises like free wi fi.
