ECI to decide on repoll of postal ballots on 1 day

07 Mar 2017 08:53 PM

The Election Commission of India in Delhi would take a final decision on whether to scrap the postal voting and hold it once again for one day, before 11th March

Almost all the political parties made this demand at an all-party meeting convened by Goa’s election office on Tuesday. The meeting lasted for over four hours.

The all-party meeting was a fallout of the meeting Goa’s Congress and NCP leaders had with the election commissioners in Delhi on Monday.

The meeting called in Goa was attended by almost all the parties, including the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. But the BJP neither made any demand nor supported the demands made by other political parties.

Issues like showing 10 crore rupees as miscellaneous expenditure was also raised at the meeting.

It was chaired by Chief Electoral Officer Kunal and was also attended by North and South Goa Collectors. But none of them spoke to the media.Only the politicians  spoke.
