Dr Sawant to battle with Reginald for Speaker’s post

BJP’s Sankhli MLA Dr Pramod Sawant has filed a nomination on  behalf of the ruling coalition. Congress MLA Alex Reginald Lawrenco is the opposition candidate.

 Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and ministers belonging to other coalition groups accompanied Dr Sawant while filing nomination on Tuesday.

Reginald was accompanied by CLP leader Babu Kavalekar at the office of pro-tem speaker Siddharth Kunkolkar.

 He also rubbished that more party MLAs would resign. One Congress MLA Vishwajeet Rane has already resigned.
