BJP wants Babu disqualified, GF silent, Cong says BJP men run Matka

he Bharatiya Janata Party demanded that the Election Commission disqualify the opposition Leader Babu Kawlekar as MLA.



 However, allies Goa Forward refused to get involved in the issue saying that it was the internal matter of the Congress.


On the other hand Congress president Shantaram Naik accused the chief minister Manohar Parrikar of being okay with five star matka or Casinos and alleged that there were members of the BJP involved in matka so action should be taken against all.


Babu has been booked for possessing disproportionate assets commensurate with his known sources of income and also because of Matka material found in his brother shop.

Goa Forward chief and Town and Country Planning minister Vijai Sardessai said that the Babu episode was the internal matter of the Congress and he would not like to comment on the matter.


President of the Congress Party Shantaram Naik asked from when the chief minister Manohar Parrikar became aware of matka. He also alleged that the chief minister was quite okay with five star matka and alleged that there were members of the BJP involved in this.
