Alex retires from politics, claims Church ‘opposed’ his candidature

He has been denied election ticket in Nuvem constituency on grounds that the Catholic church has opposed his nomination. Congress is going to field Wilfred D’Sa in  Nuvem.

Alex addressed media on Wednesday and  said he was denied the election ticket by the Congress party because of alleged objection from the  Catholic church. He however feels the report is fabricated.

Alex  sarcastically commented that the Pradesh Election Committee  members have managed to secure their nomination.
