Mining transport and activities continue as usual in Sonshi despite notices from the Goa State Pollution Control Board to the existing mining leases within the village.

The locals have threatened to again come on streets if their demands are not met.

The Goa state pollution control board had issued show cause notices to 13 mining companies operating in Sonshi due to air pollution in and around the tiny mining hamlet.

In spite of these notices, the mining activities on the leases are still in progress. The mining transport is stopped through the village however it continues on the bypass road.
